To protect the environment

STENAPA : St Eustatius National Parks Foundation

STENAPA's main goal is to protect the biodiversity and ecosystem on the island and underwater. The total marine and terrestrial protected area covers about 33 km2 almost twice the size of the island itself.

The Marine Park

The general zone of the Marine Park surrounds St Eustatius until 30m depth. There are two protected reserves in the North and the South in which no fishing and anchoring are allowed.

The Marine Park installs and maintains dive buoys for the diving boats. Divers have to purchase a dive tag from the dive centers in order to dive in the Marine Park. In this way, they then contribute to maintain the Marine Park and its multiple activities for the environment.

Divers can either choose to purchase a tag per dive or an annual tag :

Tag per dive : US$ 4.00
Annual tag : US$ 20.00
